About this event

  • 3 hours

On Saturday, May 25, all are invited to discover and celebrate the diverse cinematic visions of 27 UC San Diego creators at the Suraj Israni Center for Cinematic Arts Fellowship Forum.

Including students, staff and faculty, the fellows delved into research and managed the production of short films, documentaries and feature-length projects that push the boundaries of what the cinematic arts can be.

The diverse cohorts of fellows each recevied support to further a project of their choice that aligned with the Center's values and mission. Their topics are wide ranging, from the ways artificial intelligence (AI) distorts our realities and conceptions of self to the narratives of conflict and violence in Columbia’s mining industry and story of how South Korea’s first male fashion designer connected disparate ethnic and political communities.

This event works to showcase and celebrate the fellowship works, while bringing together a community of creatives, and inspiring future fellowship application. It will include mini "teaser" screeenings of several works, a discussion among fellows and light refreshments offered during a congratulatory reception.
